KASQSite safety, in the crew's language

Tools overview

Each tool has its own page saying what it does in the office, what it does on site, and what it never does. The list below is written from the same table as those pages, so the numbers here and there are the same numbers.

  • Site advisor — An HSE advisor on every site. Each question counts as 1.
  • Toolbox talks — From HSE guidance, in the crew's language. One run counts as 5 questions.
  • RAMS review — A risk assessment and method statement, checked 12 ways. One run counts as 5 questions.
  • CPP compatibility — Your RAMS against the construction phase plan. Part of the Company plan; one check counts as 25 questions.
  • COSHH assessment — From the product's safety data sheet. One run counts as 10 questions. Two steps: reading the data sheet counts as 5, the assessment as 5 more.
  • Hand-arm vibration — A HAVS calculator on HSE's points. One run counts as 5 questions. Reading the figure out of a tool's manual is the counted part; typing a figure in, the board, the record card and the crew's phone page are free.
  • Noise exposure — The day's noise added up HSE's way. Spends none of the plan's questions.
  • Dropped object risk — Weight and height in, the answer out. Spends none of the plan's questions.
  • Take 5 / POWRA — A point-of-work risk assessment. Spends none of the plan's questions.
  • Kit check — The site equipment register, scanned by QR. One run counts as 5 questions. Reading a certificate is the counted part; the register, the board and the crew's phone page are free.
  • Site register — Crew, certificates, the 3 Strikes board. The register calls no model and spends nothing; what the plan sets is its size — up to 5 people on the Free plan, 150 on Trade, 1500 on Company.
  • Site audit — A walk, photos, a PDF report. A walk spends nothing from your plan; the Free plan allows two walks started a month, the paid plans have no limit. Dictation goes through a transcription service and comes back as text for you to correct.
  • Site signs — 85 signs, print and laminate. Spends none of the plan's questions.

How the counting works

A plan gives a number of questions a month. Only work a model does for you is counted — an answer, a document read, a review, a check — and each tool above says how much one run counts. The tools that call no model spend nothing, whatever the plan. Site audit is the one free-to-run tool with a plan limit of its own: see plans and pricing.
