Dropped object risk
Any tool, fitting or component that could fall on somebody — when writing a RAMS, planning a lift, or standing under work at height and seeing no tethers on the tools.
No card, no expiry. Looking needs no account — using does.
In the office
Type what the thing weighs and how far it could fall — or drag a finger across the chart and watch the numbers move. KASQ gives you the DROPS verdict for a person underneath: slight, minor, major or fatality, from the published DROPS Calculator, transcribed line for line and checked against its own worked examples. Beside it, the things that make a crew look up: how fast it arrives, and what it hits like. Pin a result, change the weight or the height, and see the two side by side. Read it in six languages and download the report as a PDF.
On site
The suggested exclusion radius is a site rule of thumb — drop height ÷ 3, four metres minimum, rounded up to the half metre a worker can pace out. Confirm it against your own RAMS before marking out a barrier.
What it never does
It never allows for the object: no wind, no air resistance, no shape, no material — the speed is a release from rest under gravity alone, so drag makes the real figure lower. It is not the DROPS bounce-zone tool.
What it costs
This tool calls no model and spends nothing: it is free on every plan. All plans and prices →
