About KASQ

What is KASQ?

Health and safety software for construction sites in Great Britain, in a browser: the site advisor, toolbox talks in the crew's language, RAMS review, COSHH, hand-arm vibration, noise, dropped objects, Take 5, Kit check, the Site register, site audits and site signs. It is an APPSTAR LTD product. See what KASQ is.

Is KASQ part of HSE?

No. KASQ is not affiliated with the Health and Safety Executive. It answers from official HSE guidance, quoted under the Open Government Licence v3.0, and shows the source on every answer. See HSE guidance search.

Does KASQ sign off or approve anything?

No. No tool approves a RAMS, signs off a COSHH assessment or decides what an auditor saw. See what KASQ will not do.

Cost

Is it free?

The Free plan is free for good: no card and no expiry. Every plan, its price and its monthly questions are on plans and pricing.

Is VAT added?

No. APPSTAR LTD is not VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay.

What is a "question"?

The unit a plan counts. Only work a model does for you is counted, and each tool counts differently; the tools overview says what one run of each counts. Tools that call no model spend nothing.

I have run out of questions.

If the month is spent, the count starts again on the 1st of the month (UTC). If only today's share is spent, nothing is wrong and nothing is lost: it starts again at midnight UTC and the rest of your month is still there. A run that failed on our side is not counted.

How do I cancel?

In Stripe's portal, linked as Payments and invoices on your account page. The plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and your records stay.

Signing in

Which ways can I sign in?

With your email address and a six-digit code, with Google or Microsoft, or with an invite code if you were given one. See signing in.

My six digits do not work.

  • "Not right — check the six digits." — the code was mistyped; the message says how many tries are left.
  • "That code has run out. Ask for a new one." — a code lasts ten minutes.
  • "Too many wrong tries. Ask for a new code." — after five wrong tries the code stops working.
  • "Too many attempts — wait a minute." — wait, then try again.

A code works once only. If the email has not arrived, check the address you typed; Use a different address starts again.

"We could not confirm you are a person."

The sign-in page's bot check did not pass. Wait a moment and try again.

"That code was not recognised."

That message is for invite codes, not for the six digits sent by email. Check the invite code, or sign in with your email address, Google or Microsoft instead.

On site

Do the crew need accounts?

No. What the crew use is printed with a QR code and opens on their own phone. See getting started.

Which languages do the crew's pages speak?

English, Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian and Bulgarian — and Russian too on toolbox talks and Take 5. The office works in English. On Free, toolbox talks and sign-on sheets are in English; the crew's languages are part of the paid plans.

"Your plan's register is full."

The Site register's number of workers is set by your plan, across all your registers; plans and pricing lists it. Remove somebody who has left the site, or move to a bigger plan.

A worker reported a fault on a piece of kit.

The report lands with the office. Reporting does not take the kit out of service; only the office does that, and from then on every phone reads OUT OF SERVICE — DO NOT USE.

Answers and documents

Where do the site advisor's answers come from?

From official HSE guidance, with the source shown on every answer. When the guidance does not cover the question, KASQ says so. See HSE guidance search.

KASQ said it could not find enough evidence.

The question may be too general. Say the exact task, the equipment, who is doing it and the site conditions, and ask again.

Does KASQ keep my documents?

Documents uploaded for a RAMS review, a COSHH assessment or a CPP check are not stored unless you have asked KASQ to keep your RAMS; a safety data sheet goes as soon as it has been read. See security and privacy.

Are my documents used to train AI?

No. KASQ does not use your data, your documents or your photographs to train AI models.
